By BETH FOUHY Associated Press Writer MARION, Ohio (AP) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain is taking up the issue of possible job losses due to the closure of a DHL shipping site in Ohio, the result of a corporate merger aided by his campaign manager during his work as a lobbyist.

(AP) - The lone survivor of an underground explosion that killed five coal miners in Kentucky two years ago said Tuesday he believes most of his co-workers would have survived if the federal government had required protective chambers stocked with oxygen supplies.

Agriprocessors cited for child labor violations
POSTVILLE, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa Labor Commissioner's Office says it has uncovered dozens of child labor violations at a Postville plant for the nation's biggest supplier of kosher meat. Labor officials said Tuesday that an investigation of Agriprocessors uncovered 57 cases in which child labor laws appear to have been violated.

Toyota lays off 800 line workers at Japan plant
By YURI KAGEYAMA AP Business Writer TOKYO (AP) - Japanese automaker Toyota has laid off 800 people at a plant in southwestern Japan, or about 10 percent of the plant's work force, in response to declining sales in North America, a company official said Tuesday.
