NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) - Cyprus Airways pilots are staging a four-hour work stoppage to protest what they say is an attempt by the company's management to impose "unfair" work conditions.
Bank of New York Mellon to cut 1,800 jobs
NEW YORK (AP) - The Bank of New York Mellon Corp. said Thursday it will cut its worldwide work force by 4 percent, or about 1,800 jobs, blaming the weak global economy. It's the latest in a string of banks to announce layoffs.
Boeing warns of possible layoffs in 2009
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Boeing Co. says it will likely lay off more workers next year as it cuts costs in a slowing economy. The news comes after Boeing said it planned to lay off 800 workers at a facility in Wichita, Kan., due partly to the delay of a U.S. Air Force tanker replacement program.
JPMorgan to cut 10 pct of investment bank staff
